Welcome to the third edition of the new monthly Happy Valley newsletter!
Each issue includes practical classroom and home teaching tips for Happy Valley 1, 2, and 3 – and this month we dive into Unit 3 with weather, counting, sharks, and “I forgot my fork!” fun!

Count the balls: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

Classroom Tip | 教室でのヒント
Use toys or flashcards in a box. Take one out and ask “What is it?” Students guess and count together: “It’s a car! 1, 2, 3 cars!”
おもちゃやフラッシュカードを箱から出して「What is it?」と聞き、みんなで答え＆数えましょう。「It’s a car! 1, 2, 3 cars!」
At Home Tip | おうちでのヒント
Line up toys in the yard or room. Ask “What is it?” and “How’s the weather?” Use the chants to reinforce vocabulary and numbers.
おうちの庭や部屋でおもちゃを並べて「What is it?」「How’s the weather?」など聞いてみましょう。

Create an aquarium on the wall with sea creature flashcards. Say “I see a ___” and count: “1, 2, 3 sharks!”
海の生き物のカードで水族館の壁を作りましょう。「I see a dolphin!」や「1, 2, 3 sharks!」と発話の練習に！
At Home Tip | おうちでのヒント
Use bath time for sea animal play! Say “I see a whale!” and count with fingers or bath toys.
おふろタイムに海の生き物で遊びましょう。「I see a whale!」と言って指やおもちゃで数を練習！

During dinner, practice with real items: “Here you are!” “Thank you!” Make “Uh-oh!” part of the fun!
